Nothing replaces having a mentor looking over our shoulder as we learn, but there are always questions about how to perform EUS that can only be answered at our own pace and in our own time.
This DVD is a primer to the common problems experienced by beginner and intermediate trainees in Linear and Radial EUS, both Diagnostic and Therapeutic.
The “ABCs of EUS” provides 17 narrated video- clips that include: EUS videos; literature discussion with slides of key points; diagrams and CT scans of regional anatomy along with animation to explain scope position and view orientation.
The individual topics covered include a “stations” approach to Normal EUS of the Mediastinum, Stomach and Pancreato-Biliary region; Staging of Gastro-Esophageal and Pancreato-Biliary cancers; Neuro-Endocrine tumors; Sub-epithelial lesions; Pancreatic cysts; Biliary stones; Chronic and Auto-immune pancreatitis; the use of mini-probes, as well as FNA and therapeutic procedures such as Pancreatic pseudo-cyst drainage and Celiac axis block.
The aim of this DVD is to provide you with a road-map to the understanding and practice of all the major areas of EUS.
Upon completion of this educational activity, participants will be able to:
- Define and assess pathologies including upper GI tract and pancreato-biliary tumors, sub-epithelial lesions, neuroendocrine tumors, biliary stones and pancreatic cysts while understanding their key management principles based on current expert recommendation.
